Welcome to Internet Ready Home Security
HoneyWell Total Connect with Video Services
Total Connect communications services allow homeowners to stay connected to their security alarm systems remotely using Internet-enabled devices such as laptops and smartphones. Significant enhancements have been made to make it more compatible with consumer lifestyles. Specifically, the system now works with popular consumer devices such as Apple’s iPhone and iPad and RIM’s BlackBerry. Most recently, Honeywell Security has added remote streaming video services that allow consumers to view live video of their homes on the internet. This month, Honeywell Security also introduced an updated app for the Android that allows consumers to view up to six different cameras from their phones. Through innovative IP technology connected to a security system, Total Connect enables users to receive e-mail notifications and text and video messages of events happening inside and outside the home, such as when the alarm is armed or disarmed, or even if motion is sensed near a pool area, patio or driveway. However, Total Connect offers and even broader range of internet applications. For example, when alarm motion sensors are tied to the main security panel, Total Connect can immediately notify a homeowner of a potential intruder or if a valuable item, such as a flat-screen TV, has been moved from its location. It can also let users know (via e-mail or text message) when a flood or extreme temperature change has been detected so they can act quickly and avoid costly repairs. Total Connect also allows homeowners to use their Web-enabled devices to control their security systems. If the homeowner forgets to arm the security system before leaving for work in the morning, he/she can simply send Total Connect a text message to arm it or access the system through a highly secure Internet Website.
